About Hynley

Hynley Salter is building her path in barrel racing through the work most people never see. Time in the saddle, miles on the road, hours of practice, and the discipline behind every run all matter.

Hynley is 18 years old and from Evergreen, Alabama. She began competing in 2019 with her first leased horse, Boogs, in Wisconsin, where she built a strong foundation and gained valuable experience.

She later purchased her first horse, Otter, and competed at her first NBHA World Show. In 2021, Pip became her main competition horse, and together they have achieved a great deal.

That is a serious start for any young competitor. Many spend years finding their footing. Hynley has been building hers through steady work, experience, and consistency.

Meet the horses Pip and Ana

Pip Pip is a 15-year-old red dun standing 14.1 hands tall. He may be small, but he’s as tough and determined as they come. I’ve owned him for six years, and he’s been my main partner in the arena. Together, we’ve built a strong bond and won a lot including the 2024 NBHA 2D World Championship and several State Championships. He’s proof that heart matters more than size.

Ana Ana, registered as SWFtellemshesfuego, is a 5-year-old bay mare by Bola De Fuego out of Nelle Belle. I purchased her as an unstarted 3-year-old, and bringing her along has been a rewarding journey. She’s developed into a consistent 1D horse, and I’m excited about what the future holds as she continues to grow and improve.
